Alvaro Paiva-Bimbo is a Venezuelan-Italian composer rooted in Latin American musical traditions and shaped by decades of rigorous classical training. He has contributed original music and orchestrations to over 60 film and television projects, including the Oscar-nominated films Encanto, Bardo, and Nyad. A lifelong performer in Venezuelan and Afro-Caribbean forms, he integrates lived rhythmic fluency with orchestral writing of dramatic scale.
A Latin Grammy-winning composer, producer, songwriter, and performer, Paiva-Bimbo has released ten albums and built an international career across studio, stage, and screen, collaborating at the highest levels of film, classical, and popular music. He works fluently in English, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese.
He studied composition and orchestration at the Manhattan School of Music under Giampaolo Bracali, a disciple of Nadia Boulanger, and holds additional degrees in classical guitar, conducting, and computer science.
